Hello, I'm Tyler Sanders!
I’m a former aerospace engineer turned professional pilot and flight instructor. I founded ANC Ground Schools with one goal in mind: to share the lessons I’ve learned over years in both the engineering and aviation worlds, and to help develop better, more knowledgeable pilots.
At ANC Ground Schools, you’ll do more than just prepare for your FAA knowledge test—you’ll gain real-world aviation insights designed to make you a safer, more confident pilot. Our classes are interactive, community-focused, and built around practical understanding, not just rote memorization.
Join us to sharpen your knowledge, connect with fellow aviators, and enjoy learning in a supportive, classroom-style environment.

I have extensive general aviation experience. Over the last 7 years, I've had the opportunity to fly a wide variety of aircraft.
I have also maintained a 90% first time pass rate on the 19 students that I've endorsed for checkrides. I've personally trained new private pilots, instrument students, commercial single and commercial multi-engine students, and fellow instructors. I'm also an avid tailwheel pilot, and have given over 20 tailwheel, high-performance, and complex endorsements.

...I would highly recommend Tyler as an instructor. He is very knowledgable and breaks down skills not only step by step, but also why each maneuver is important. He cares about the growth of each student, not just passing them. Highly recommend!

Tyler helped me out big time! I needed to get up to speed on the avionics in the airplane I was flying. He walked me through them and was very clearly proficient. Would recommend him as an instructor to anyone!

Can't recommend this guy enough! Very knowable with a great depth of knowledge and understanding! One of the best instructors I know!

This guy is the real deal. Passed my PPL 2 years ago, and without his review we had, I don't think I would've passed. Very knowledgable and sharp!
